Ottawa Job of the Day: Exec Director, Judo Canada

The Executive Director will provide leadership in executing Judo Canada’s strategic priorities and will be responsible for overseeing all Judo Canada programs. Organizational Structure The Executive Director (ED) reports to the President.

Main responsibilities
• Develop and implement annual operational plans consistent with Judo Canada’s Strategic priorities.
• Develop policies, planning documents and recommendations for review and approval and present them to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure that Judo Canada’s actions are consistent with nationally accepted standards and practices.
• Prepares annual budgets and financial documentation as required by sponsors, partners and for other monitoring purpose.
• Monitor agreed on by the association key performance objectives and indicators.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and generate reports on findings with appropriate recommendations.
• Manage and evaluate staff under his direct jurisdiction.
• Maintain strong partnerships with the primary funding partners of sport in Canada, including Sport Canada, Own the Podium, Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Sport for Life, and other key agencies.
• Maintain strong partnership with Provincial/Territorial Judo Associations and their funding partners in an effort to align all plans into a Strategic plan of Judo development in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success as an executive leader with excellent management, administrative, communication and financial skills, experience while leading sport organizations at the domestic and international levels. Strong consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills are required. Knowledge of the amateur sporting system of Canada is preferred. Knowledge of the Canadian judo community and the ability to communicate in both official languages are key assets.
