Ottawa Job of the Day: Ottawa Senators Sens Squad / Promo Team

Are you a huge hockey fan? Do you have infectious enthusiasm and love meeting new people? We’re looking for people like you to join “THE SENS SQUAD”, our team of performers who generate fun and energy inside the arena at Ottawa Senators games.

The Sens Squad is an interactive group appearing at all Sens games as well as events in the community. Their role is part cheerleader (without the actual cheerleading or pompoms), part promotional street team, and part super fan.

At games, the team assists with in-arena contests and activities, in-arena activities and promotions (t-shirt tosses, ticket upgrades, prize giveaways, trivia contests, etc.), as well as welcoming fans before the game (giveaways, face paint, cheer cards, etc.)

The team also represents the organization at various events and appearances throughout the community, with particular emphasis on marketing, fan development, and community/non-profit events.

The Clocktower Brewpub is looking to hire a full time assistant brewer/cellarman. This position includes deliveries, keg cleaning, and general work around the brewery. This position includes heavy lifting.

Applicants must be physically fit, have a valid drivers license, and have a flexible schedule. Weekends and some evenings included. No prior knowledge of brewing is necessary but a passion for craft beer is.

Ottawa Job of the Day: Collections Manager, Military Equipment and Technology

The Collections Management, Planning and Programs Division at the Canadian War Museum (CWM) is currently seeking a dynamic individual who will, under the supervision of the Director, Collections Management, Planning and Programs, co-ordinate the preservation and maintenance of the assigned CWM Collections; organize the Collections refinement process; initiate artifact based research projects; provide access to the Collections; and perform other related duties as assigned.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a Masters Degree in History and a three (3) years College Diploma in Museum studies, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

You possess knowledge of:
Canadian history (particularly Canadian military history) and the general history of war;
Military material culture, particularly military technology and equipment;
The principles of project management and collections management;
Delivery of museum projects and programs;
Collections management techniques;
Conservation and restoration techniques and development ;
Workplace health and safety rules and regulations.

The Goulbourn Museum is home to interactive and hands-on exhibitions includingThe 100th Regiment of Foot – about the soldiers who settled Goulbourn Township in 1818 after the War of 1812; The Village Store where kids can dress up as pioneers & shop or barter for supplies; as well as exhibits about early Goulbourn settlers, the communities in the Township, and local services. The Museum has over 8000 artefacts in its collections, and offers over 35 programs and events each year. The Museum has three fulltime staff members and is supported by 30 volunteers. The Marketing and Visitor Services job title is a new position.

The Marketing and Visitor Services employee is responsible for developing the Museum’s overall marketing and promotion strategy. He/she will strive to attract a new and wider audience within the context of the Museum’s Community Policy.

Since 1992, together the Sens Foundation and Senators Sports & Entertainment have contributed $70 million back to the region.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Business Development and Corporate Partnerships is responsible for developing and optimizing more than $1 million in sponsorship, corporate partnerships and event sales revenues with existing and new corporate partners. In addition, the Director is responsible for organizational leadership and coaching a team of three high-performing Fundraisers who are collectively responsible for generating an additional $2.5 million of gross revenues for the Sens Foundation.
